Inktober and Giveaway Announcement!

Claudia

Happy October, everyone! Or shall I say, Inktober? For all you inkophiles and notebookphiles out there, you know what this means. Since 2009, artists worldwide have used this month to challenge themselves to do one ink drawing a day for 31 days. Inktober was created by Jake Parker to develop a better drawing practice and improve his skills. To add an element of accountability (which is especially good for those who need a little extra push to stay consistent), anyone participating must share their drawings or post them online. Calligraphy, typography, lettering, and even creative writing is allowed. Markers and watercolors are allowed as well, but the point is to see what you can make with very simple, straightforward tools—so paper and black ink are ideal.

Rhodia and Herbin have you covered in that department, whether you’re a calligrapher or a poet.

Here are the simple rules, taken from the Inktober website, which also offers daily prompts if you don’t know where to start:

  1. Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
  2. Post it.
  3. Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2019
  4. Repeat

And now for the giveaway!

We’re giving away three Rhodiarama softcover notebooks (in anise, yellow, and raspberry) to three lucky Instagram users. All you have to do to enter is:
