I am a big fan of the books by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child. I have read most of them, and enjoyed every one. They are also some of the scariest books I have ever read, or listened to on Audiobooks. Relic, The Cabinet of Curiosities, and Crimson Shore top my list. What makes them gripping is the blend of real places or events, believable people and horror. The Obsidian Chamber is their latest book. It was released last month.
So, imagine my delight this morning to wake up to this email from Sandra Strait of Life Imitates Doodles:
“I’m not sure if you look for these kinds of mentions, but I’m currently reading “The Obsidian Chamber” by Preston & Child, which is a popular fiction thriller series. On page 74, the main leading lady reveals that the journal she writes in is a Rhodia, and even mentions the distinctive orange cover!”
For those of you new to Preston & Child, and their Agent Pendergast series, the “main leading lady” is Constance Greene. She is the ward of Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast, and lives with him in his mansion on Riverside Drive in New York City. She first made her appearance in The Cabinet of Curiosities, and appears in other novels as well.
Good to know I’m in good literary company!
I’m a fan of Preston & Child too, but I haven’t read their complete works. Now that I know this, The Obsidian Chamber is a “must get.”
