RD: Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
BF: I am an Associate Professor of Education at the College of St. Elizabeth, Morristown, N.J., and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in special education and assistive technology. I also am an Assistive Technology Consultant and consult to many public schools in New Jersey on how assistive technology can support students in their learning. I work with a lot of students with learning disabilities and work with various tools such as: word prediction, text-to-speech, digital pens to name a few. I have been working in the field for over 30 years and have a blog which I have been writing for the past 10 years which reviews various educational technologies which can be found at assistivetek.blogspot.com. I am also the author of many resource reference guides on assistive technology which can be found at nprinc.com.
RD: How and when did you first discover Rhodia products?
BF: I discovered Rhodia products a couple of months ago when I started to use the Wacom Bamboo Spark which is a digital pen technology for capturing notes and ideas. When it came time to replace the paper pad one of my colleagues recommended I look at the Rhodia Classic Staple Bound Graph Paper Pad – Orange N° 16. RD: Do you always use the same product(s) or do you change periodically?
BF: I am presently using the Rhodia Classic Staple Bound Graph Paper Pad – Orange N° 16., with my Wacom Bamboo Spark and with my fountain pens. I enjoy using the lined and gridded pads which work great!
RD: Do you use them in any way that is specific to your work?
BF: When I use the Rhodia Classic Staple Bound Graph Paper Pad – Orange N° 16. with the Wacom Bamboo Spark, I often will use the handwriting recognition feature found in the software-which allows me to go from my hand writing to editable text.
RD: Does using Rhodia products make your job easier in any way? (Do quality tools make the job easier?)
BF: Using high quality products makes my work much more enjoyable. Using the Rhodia Classic Staple Bound Graph Paper Pad – Orange N° 16 with fountain pens is an incredible experience. The high quality of the paper makes the pen glide on the surface of the paper without any bleed through.
RD: Pencil, pen, or other? Favorites?
BF: I use a roller ball Smart pen which comes with the Wacom Bamboo Spark as well as a Pilot Metropolitan and Lamy Safari fountain pen with the Rhodia Classic Staple Bound Graph Paper Pad – Orange N° 16.
