RD: How and when did you first discover Rhodia products?
Andrew: My first Rhodia product was a square Reverse notebook from Target. I liked the quality of the paper and bought it because it was clearly higher quality than the other notebooks on the shelf. I fell in love with Rhodia products after that, and I’ve been using various Rhodia notebooks for years now.
RD: Which are your favorite Rhodia products?
Andrew: It’s hard to pick a favorite. In terms of the Rhodia product I’ve used the most, it would have to be the No. 13. I used the 13 for taking notes when I was working for a daily newspaper, so I was filling them up at a pretty brisk pace. I’m also a big fan of my Webnotebook with dot grid.
RD: Do you use them in any way that is specific to your job?
Andrew: Working in the legal field now, my go-to Rhodia notebook is the No. 19 A4 legal pad with yellow paper. It’s like a regular legal pad, but better.
RD: Does using Rhodia products in any way make your job easier? (Do quality tools make the job easier?)
Andrew: I wouldn’t necessarily say my job is made easier by the Rhodia legal pad, but it’s certainly more enjoyable. It’s nice to use high-quality paper when I spend a lot of time writing throughout the workday.
RD: Pencil, pen, or other? Favorites?
Andrew: I prefer rollerball or fountain pens. I always have a Pentel Energel on me, and I have been using my Lamy Safari daily.
RD: Where do you regularly purchase Rhodia products?
Andrew: Lately I’ve made most of my purchases online, but I liked living in New York City where there were stationary stores that sold Rhodia products. I’ve also seen Rhodia products on Massdrop recently, so it looks like I’ll be buying some notebooks in bulk!
RD: Is there any way we could improve on your favorite product?
Andrew: I would like to see a soft-cover variant of the Webnotebook, but otherwise it’s hard to improve on perfection.
