Luis Pangilinan, a Graphic & UI/UX Designer from Las Vegas is currently a longtime user of Rhodia products because as he says, They are simply fantastic!
RD: Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
Luis: I’m a happily married graphic, web and interactive designer who also loves to sketch, illustrate and paint whenever I can peel myself away from digital work. I enjoy playing drums to my neighbor’s dismay and love checking out local food spots whenever I’m in different cities—I’ve never met a pork belly I didn’t like.
RD: How and when did you first discover Rhodia products?
Luis: I discovered Rhodia through a blog review I stumbled upon during my quest to find the best sketch notebook.
RD: Does using Rhodia products in any way make your job easier? (Do quality tools make the job easier?)
Luis: Yes they do! I sketch and draw out my ideas, logos, inspirations and wireframe designs on the Webby before it ever hits my vector program (Adobe Illustrator). The Rhodia Webnotebook is inviting to use, portable, durable and has all the archival qualities I need in my work.
RD: Which are your favorite Rhodia products?
Luis: The Rhodia ‘Webby’ Webnotebook in blank Clairefontaine paper 5.5″x8.25″. The struggle is choosing either the classic orange or stealthy black covers!
RD: Where do you regularly purchase Rhodia products?
Luis: I regularly purchase from classicofficeproducts.com but sometimes from Amazon or other various online retailers depending in who has the specific notebook I need in stock. I wish Blick’s (Las Vegas art supplies) would carry the Webbys, but unfortunately only the lined pads are available.
RD: Do you use them in any way that is specific to your job?
Luis: I take my Rhodia wherever I go, in meetings to keep notes, in design briefs and brainstorming sessions to flesh out ideas that I want to try, and mostly during logo design conceptualization where I consume several pages to solve design problems.
RD: Pencil, pen, or other? Favorites?
Luis: Staedtler and Pilot pens for doodling/note taking, Faber-Castell pencils for sketches and Prismacolor pencils for detailed illustrations.
RD: Is there any way we could improve on your favorite product?
Luis: Make it available at my local art supply or specialty store. (Blick’s, Papyrus, etc) ;)
