RD: Please tell us a little bit about yourself.
Wendy: My name is Wendy and I currently work as a freelance graphic designer and as a calligrapher. I live in Brooklyn, New York. I enjoy reading and I also try to journal at least once a week. Bright colors make me smile, and a cup of tea in the morning always gets me going.
RD: How and when did you first discover Rhodia products?
Wendy: I’ve always seen Rhodia products in Dick Blick. I’ve read how other calligraphers like to use Rhodia notebooks with high grade vellum paper. So I decided to try it out and bought the Bloc Rhodia No. 18 lined notebook. I’ve been using the notebook to practice calligraphy, take notes and to jot down ideas.
RD: Does using Rhodia products in any way make your job easier? (Do quality tools make the job easier?)
Wendy: Yes to both questions! The Rhodia paper quality is excellent. I don’t need to worry about ink bleeding. Having quality tools and knowing how to use them motivates and frees me to be creative.
RD: Which are your favorite Rhodia products?
Wendy: I’ve only used the Bloc Rhodia No. 18 lined notebook so far. I’m excited to try out other Rhodia products.
RD: Do you use them in any way that is specific to your job?
Wendy: I use it to take notes and to copy down quotes. The majority of the notebook is used to practice calligraphy – copperplate, spencerian, contemporary calligraphy or brush calligraphy. Sometimes, I also use it for rough layouts.
RD: Pencil, pen, or other? Favorites?
Wendy: I have so many options for writing tools that it’s hard to choose a favorite! I use pencil to take notes. For calligraphy, I like to use the Nikko G. I have brush markers, Muji pens, Uniball pens, Zebra and the list goes on. I notice I tend to like gel pens more.
RD: Is there any way we could improve on your favorite product?
Wendy: I like the orange and black family of Rhodia products. It would be interesting to see Rhodia stationery products.
Go Wendy! You’re Awesome!
