Feeling a little under the weather yesterday, I stopped at the book store to treat myself. As it was the first day of summer, I guess my choice of “The Gift” (poems by Hafiz) will be the official start to my summer reading selections of 2013. Never one to read only one book at a time, I am about halfway through “Forty Rules of Love: a Novel of Rumi” by Elif Shafak and I also just started Marianne Williamson’s “The Law of Divine Compensation: On Work, Money, and Miracles.” If that isn’t enough to keep me busy, I’ve had the urge to re-read 11/22/63, a favorite from my all-time favorite author, Stephen King. In 11/22/63, a time traveler has the opportunity to alter history by preventing JFK’s assassination. (It was a spectacular read.)
What will you be reading this summer?
As of right now I am reading Dr Zhivago, Disclosure and Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. How is that for a combo?
You can never go wrong with Hafiz or Rumi! Let us know how you like Shafak’s novel.
No time to read here, finishing up a manuscript I want to pitch at RWA (Romance Writers of America) Nationals.
