The Magic of Christmas Eve

I think there is something special about Christmas Eve that doesn’t exist in any other form. It’s a frantic craziness that settles into a deep calm. Anyone who has worked retail on this day will know what I mean – all the last minute rushing around to get the perfect gift, traveling to get home for the holidays, cooking meals for the big family dinner, and trying to keep the kids from discovering “Santa’s” gifts hidden in the hall closet. At the end of the day when parents are near exhaustion, they help their children set out a plate of freshly baked cookies for Santa and carrots for his reindeer.

For some, it’s eating dinner at the only restaurant in town that’s still open then having your boyfriend get down on one knee and propose marriage. (At least that’s what mine did 24 some odd years ago.)

Whatever this day may bring, I wish you the very best.
