Happy Spring!

Stephanie

Spring is my most favorite season as everything that has (typically) been dormant for the winter is born anew. It also seems like it would be the best time to start implementing our new year’s resolutions, don’t you think?

For those of us living east of the Mississippi, it might be difficult to tell that spring has arrived as it’s been an unusually mild winter. The biggest snow storm of the season happened over Halloween weekend with snowfall reaching upwards of 32″ in the northeast. That storm was responsible for leaving 1.5 million people without power for several days (due to the heavy snow pulling down trees that hadn’t yet lost their leaves) and for 13 deaths due mostly to slippery road conditions. Though our average annual snowfall is only around 33″, I definitely remember 1994 and 1996 when we surpassed the 80″ mark as we were pummeled by one Noreaster after another.

While I am not a huge fan of snow, it does seem to mark the passage of time and seems simply bizarro to have not have seen any real snow accumulation in eastern PA.

Do you have any spring resolutions you’d like to share? I bought new sneakers for walking with the hopes of losing a few pounds.
