Favorite Holiday Movie Moments

Stephanie

Was it the squirrel scene in Christmas Vacation?

The leg lamp in a Christmas Story?

Some people enjoy the 1947 version of Miracle on 34th Street.

Or maybe the end of It’s a Wonderful Life…

Or maybe you’d prefer a television moment – this was always one of my favorites:

As an adult that no longer observes any specific traditions, I can’t help remembering the way I felt about the holidays as a child – especially when I come across any of these movies.

  1. It’s all about the leg lamp for me–in fact, I had one for a few years and it was great. I still have the shade and bought it a floor lamp of its own when the “leg” died.

  3. None, of those actually, but the last five minutes of White Christmas makes me bawl every year. It’s been a family tradition since 2001 when I got my first DVD player and a copy of the movie.

  5. George C Scott in A Christmas Carol: “Tell me I may sponge away the writing on this stone!” Gets me every time, though I’ve seen it every year since it came out in 1984. Wow.
