I’m not much of a daily planner kind of person- more of a “month at a glance” kind and I’ve recently fallen in love with my new Quo Vadis Monthly 4 that Karen sent me. (I fully reviewed it here.) One small feature I especially love, are the year at a glance pages. I find something so thrilling about looking back over a completed year. Blocks of time spent here or there, doing this or that- it’s a great visual reminder for me to remember the important bits.
Are you a paper planner person? Which kind do you prefer- daily, monthly, hourly? Do you use more than one? I know that Laurie does!
I’d love to use the Year at a Glance, but the lines are too small for my scrawl to notate anything legible. Maybe it’s the size planner I used this year? The Weekly 2011 doesn’t seem to have room for much more than cryptic symbols. Yet it fits in a pocket, so I can’t complain.

I find weekly gives me the best control of my life. Monthly doesn’t give enough room for notes and Daily wastes too much as I would never fill the page. YMMV

I agree it is always fun to look back and see what happened over the course of a year.

Right now, since I’m in school, a Week at a Glance type of panner works best. I use one to keep track of when work is assigned, and when it’s due. It helps me prioritize my work.
As for traditional planner stuff (appointments and things) I prefer a monthly format.
The Rhodia planner I’m using right now is perfect, I just wish it had month at a glance pages between months, or after the year at a glance..
