Who went to the Philly Pen Show this weekend?

Did you make it to the Philadelphia Pen Show this weekend? Ironically, I’ve yet to go to my first show. I think I fear losing control and spending waaaaay too much money. My husband already teases me that I have 15 fountain pens and how I can’t possibly use them all at once. (He just doesn’t understand… ) We NEED multiple pens to suit our writing moods and our tastes in ink at any given moment. I think I have about 10 pens inked right now – all with a different color. (Black, blue, red, purple, maroon, magenta….) I also have another pen on its way to me all the way from Sweden. I recently bought a vintage (1946) Parker Sub-Deb Vacumatic with get this – a flexible nib. My first flexi and I am excited. I wonder what ink I will try in it first….

So if you did go to the pen show, what did you buy? What were you drooling over, what was interesting….  Tell me, tell me, so maybe I can get up the nerve to go next time. Though I may need someone to go with me that will manage my pen show allowance.

  1. Went with my Father. We were drooling at the Visconti booth. The new Homo Sapiens line has a spectacular fountain pen that we both wanted to buy on the spot. Surprisingly enough, I didn’t end up buying anything, but my Dad did come back with a bottle of Diamine Turquoise and an Online calligraphy kit for my Mom. Everything I wanted was going to make me short on this month’s rent, so I put a few pens on my wish list and continue to drool until I summon the funds to splurge.
