Artist Inspiration: Carla Trujillo

Stephanie

Carla Trujillo is a mixed media artist living and working in the greater Cincinnati area. Her artistic journey began more than 20 years ago in New Mexico as a printmaker. She has expanded her art over the years to include mixed media art dolls. She uses a combination of materials like wire, wood, clay, and found objects to create her one-of-a-kind dolls.

I find all of her designs to be incredibly inspirational.

These three images represent some of my favorites of Carla’s work.

  1. Stephanie, thank you for introducing us to Carla’s artwork and blog. The figures are reminiscent of some petroglyphs I have seen, and also the glass spirit figures by Hopi artist Ramson Lomatewama.
