Which pads do you prefer – plain or grid? Some like the freedom of plain paper, others prefer the structure and guidance of grids. Which one are you?

For years I wrote on lined paper, for some reason I never felt comfortable on plain paper, probably because I write more than I draw and needed the lines to keep my writing straight. Recently I have discovered the joy of gridded paper and wonder how I ever managed without it. The only thing I use plain for now is art, and I don’t do much of that these days.

Plain or grid– I think I like the option of going in either direction. Lined just always seems too limiting!
